Curriculum
The Glendene School Curriculum
The Glendene School Curriculum was developed through a collaborative process involving students, parents, staff, and the community. It aims to enhance student achievement by ensuring learning is both relevant and aligned with the aspirations of our students and their families.
Based on the New Zealand Curriculum, we have crafted a personalised curriculum delivery plan for our students. This plan embodies our school’s vision, values, and principles, preparing our Year 6 graduates, like “Hope”, to leave Glendene School with confidence and empowerment.
The Glendene School Curriculum respects the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and is culturally responsive, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of our learners.
Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori
As part of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori, we begin and end each day with karakia and waiata. Māori world view is incorporated across all teaching and learning.
At the beginning of each term, we hold a pōwhiri to welcome new students and their whānau.
Home/School Learning Connection
Glendene School fosters a strong home-school connection through biannual learning meetings, mid and end of year reporting and in-person learning celebrations where whānau can view progress.
